Associate Professor
Józef Jarosz serves as Associate Professor in the Department of German Language at the Institute of Germanic Philology, University of Wrocław, where he has held academic positions since 2006 and currently leads the Scandinavian Studies Workshop. His educational trajectory includes a Master's degree from the University of Wrocław (1987-1993) followed by doctoral studies at the same institution's Institute of German Philology (2002-2006), culminating in a dissertation on Danish and German translation equivalents of Polish prepositions in temporal phrases. Research expertise spans translation theory and practice, Danish and German funerary epigraphy, text linguistics, stylistics, phraseology, paremiology, and paremiography, with specialized focus on the history of Scandinavian studies at the University of Wrocław and scientific-cultural relations between Silesia and Scandinavia.
