Prof. Dr. Sebastian Bersick is a Professor of International Political Economy at Ruhr-Universität Bochum's Faculty of East Asian Studies, where he leads research on global governance and interregional relations. His primary affiliation is with the Department of International Political Economy of East Asia, focusing on contemporary Asia-Europe dynamics. His research examines: EU-China strategic partnerships and trade relations Soft power applications in global governance Regional security architectures in East Asia ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) institutional development Perception studies in transcontinental diplomacy Recent publications analyze cybersecurity cooperation, China's role in global capitalism reform, and ASEAN's perception in European foreign policy. Bersick has supervised doctoral candidates including Y. Li (2019) on China-Iran relations.
