Andrew DeOrio is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan. He specializes in computer science education, software engineering, and medical device security. His teaching includes large courses such as EECS 280 (Programming and Data Structures) and EECS 485 (Web Systems), with a focus on innovative pedagogical strategies. He has developed tools like Madoop (a lightweight MapReduce framework) and contributed to open-source projects like TapirX for medical device discovery. His research spans hardware debugging, medical device cybersecurity, and educational technologies. Notable contributions include work on post-silicon validation of multi-core processors and anomaly detection in medical devices.
