Tara L. Bal is an Assistant Professor in the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science at Michigan Technological University, serving as Director of the Master of Forestry Degree Program and Leader of the Wood Protection Group and Microbiology/Pathology Lab. She holds a PhD, MS, and BS in Forest Science-related fields from Michigan Tech and Purdue University. Key projects include mitigating beech bark disease and studying oak wilt via eDNA. She co-directs Women in the Academy (WIA) to advance diversity in forestry.
