Prof. Dr. Susanne Albers is a Full Professor of Computer Science at Technische Universität München (TUM), holding the Liesel Beckmann Distinguished Professorship. She leads the Chair of Algorithms and Complexity within the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology. Her research focuses on efficient algorithms, particularly online and approximation algorithms, algorithmic game theory, and algorithm engineering. She has held academic positions at the University of Dortmund, University of Freiburg, and Humboldt University of Berlin before joining TUM in 2013. Educations: Ph.D. (Dr.rer.nat.) in Computer Science, University of Saarland (1993) Studies in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Business Administration at University of Osnabrück Research Interests: Design and analysis of algorithms for energy efficiency, scheduling, and network design Algorithmic game theory, including network creation games and fair cost allocation Algorithm engineering with applications to data centers and distributed systems Awards: ERC Advanced Grant (2016) Leibniz Prize (2008) Member of Leopoldina and Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz Fellow of GI and EATCS Grants and Projects: AdONE Research Training Group funded by DFG (since 2017) Organized ESA/ALGO 2019 and MAPSP 2017 Labs/Teams: Her research group focuses on theoretical computer science with interdisciplinary applications in distributed systems and algorithmic economics.
