Дејан Д. Ранчић је редовни професор на Електронском факултету у Нишу (Универзитет у Нишу), где је изабран 2015. године након дугогодишњег рада као доцент од 2005. године. Дипломирао, магистрирао и докторирао је на истом факултету у области Електротехника и рачунарство.
