Mr Pishun Tantivangphaisal is a Research Assistant in Geotechnics at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Imperial College London. He is a practicing geotechnical engineer specializing in computational geomechanics, driven to bridge research and industry practice, particularly in advancing geotechnical design through soil constitutive models. Education: PhD in Geotechnical Engineering (Imperial College London, 2022–present) MSc in Soil Mechanics (Imperial College London, 2020–2021) BEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, 2018) BBA in General Business Management (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, 2018) His research focuses on modeling offshore foundations under long-term cyclic loads via finite element analyses, integrating numerical models into holistic geotechnical design methods that account for soil-structure interactions throughout the foundation design life. He is keenly interested in quantifying geotechnical prediction reliability from a Bayesian perspective, especially for complex numerical analyses in routine design. He holds non-academic experience as a Geotechnical Engineer at Arup Group (2018–2025) and will begin an Assistant Professor role at Imperial College London on 5 January 2026.
