Lecturer
Tommaso Brusasca is a Lecturer in Hebrew (STAA-01/H) at the University of Pisa since 2025. He is also a PhD student in Ancient Sciences at Ca' Foscari University of Venice , enrolled in the 40th Cycle. His research focuses on Semitic linguistics and epigraphy, with a particular emphasis on Northwest Semitic languages (Ugaritic, Hebrew, Aramaic) and Old South Arabian. Education Bachelor's in Ancient Literature (2022) from the University of Pisa, supervised by Piergiorgio Borbone Master's in Oriental Studies (2024) from the University of Pisa and Oriental University of Naples, supervised by Giovanni Mazzini and Alessia Prioletta Licentiate thesis in History of Religions (2025) on 'ḥērem' in Jewish and Sabaean sources, supervised by Corinne Bonnet His publications address topics such as Semitic language parallels , Ancient South Arabian inscriptions , and Northwest Semitic epigraphy . In 2025, he received the Djamel Eddine Kouloughli Prize for Best Arabic Scholar from the University of Lausanne. He previously worked as an Assistant Researcher at the University of Oxford (2023) on the World History of Rituals project.
