Sebastian Pohland is a Doctoral Research Fellow in Scandinavian Languages at the University of Oslo, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities. His research focuses on literary analysis (monster theory, otherness, queer theory, character construction) and digital humanities (palaeography, textual criticism, material philology). He holds a B.A. in Scandinavian Studies from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and an M.A. in Old Norse Philology from the University of Bergen. Researcher on the TMS-project 'Transformations of Medieval Law' led by Helen Leslie Co-organised the Norway Grants-funded conference 'Medieval Studies in the Digital World' (2023) with Charles University in Prague Member of the BærUt! Network for Sustainable Digital Scholarly Editions His work bridges traditional philological methods with digital tools, particularly in medieval textual analysis. Current research emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to medieval literature through material culture studies and digital methodologies.
