Dr. Anna Catharina Horn is a Senior Lecturer in Medieval Studies at the Department of Linguistics and Nordic Studies, University of Oslo. She serves as a PhD leader and is affiliated with the research program Modes of Modification: Variance and Change in Medieval Manuscript Culture , where she leads the subproject Texts to Rule and Regulate focusing on administrative texts like laws and diplomas from a literacy perspective. Bachelor: Western European Medieval Studies, University of Oslo Master: Norse Philology, University of Oslo PhD: University of Gothenburg (thesis: Law and Text in the Middle Ages: Production and Reception of Magnus Lagabøte's Landslov ) Her research interests span Medieval Laws , Manuscript Culture , Paleography , Textual Organization , and Historical Literacy in Scandinavia (1100–1600). Recent work examines script usage in ecclesiastical, monarchical, and civil contexts ( Modes of Modification program). Publications trend toward Medieval Scandinavian Law analysis, Manuscript Transmission , and Textual Materiality . Key projects include studies on the Landslov (Norwegian National Law) across centuries and comparative script analyses in Nordic regions.
