She holds academic positions in Ophthalmology and Immunology, with a focus on autoimmunity, particularly Sjögren's Syndrome, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), and dry eye disease. Her research emphasizes identifying novel regulators of inflammation and developing microRNA-based therapeutics. Education: BSc (Hons) from Dublin Institute of Technology and PhD from University College Dublin. She began her postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular Immunology at RCSI in 2007, advancing to Honorary Lecturer in Biochemistry (2012–2015) before becoming a Lecturer in Ophthalmology and Immunology (2015–present). Research interests include immunology-driven ocular diseases, microRNA regulation of inflammation, and translational therapeutics. She has led multiple grants, including projects investigating ocular GVHD diagnostics and microRNA-based treatments for dry eye disease. Active in medical education, she teaches ophthalmology and immunology to medical students and contributes to programs like the Transition Year Mini Med Programme. Awards: While no specific honors are listed, her extensive publications and funded research reflect significant academic contributions.
