Associate Professor
Graham Kelder is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science & Legal Studies at Suffolk University's College of Arts & Sciences, where he also serves as Co-Director of LAWU Legal Studies and Prelaw Advisor. His academic background includes a JD from Northeastern University School of Law, an MDiv from Boston University, and a BA from The Johns Hopkins University. Research Focus: Professor Kelder's scholarship centers on the intersection of law, public policy, and health regulation. His primary expertise includes tobacco control litigation, public health law, constitutional law, and food industry regulation. He examines legal mechanisms for corporate accountability and has extensively researched the impacts of the multistate tobacco settlement. Professional Experience: Before joining Suffolk, Kelder held significant roles including Project Director at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Organized Labor & Tobacco Control Network, Senior Policy Analyst at Massachusetts Association of Health Boards, and Managing Attorney at Northeastern University's Tobacco Control Resource Center. He also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Massachusetts Superior Court. Publications: His research output demonstrates a consistent focus on tobacco regulation through legal and policy frameworks. Recent works explore coalition-building with labor organizations, fire-safe cigarette legislation, and occupational health disparities.
