Research Fellow
Dr. Natasha Vukovic is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on advanced fiber optics technologies, including multi-spot beam generation, nonlinear effects in fibers, and optical sensing methods. She has contributed to projects involving fiber laser design, material processing applications, and sensor development using innovative imaging techniques. Current supervision includes PhD student Mihai Stefan Merlas in the ORC (Optoelectronics Research Centre). Her work spans fiber laser efficiency optimization, polarization-maintaining fiber design, and the impact of packaging on active fiber performance. She collaborates extensively on projects involving femtosecond lasers, square lattice beam configurations, and Raman-based fiber characterization. Key research outputs include studies on Panda PM fiber modeling, multibeam generation systems, and force sensing methodologies. These contributions advance applications in photonics, material processing, and high-precision optical systems.
