Anna Rebecca Unterholzner is an artist, researcher, and lecturer affiliated with the University of Évora (Department of Visual Arts and Design) and Macromedia University of Applied Sciences. She holds a BSc in Economic and Social Sciences from WU Vienna, an MSc in Philosophy from the University of Luxembourg, and a PhD in Multimedia Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon. Current Roles: Visiting Assistant Professor at University of Évora and Lecturer at Macromedia University. Her research integrates neuroaesthetics, affect theory, and transdisciplinary art practices. She explores the interplay between emotions, gender equity, and augmented reality, emphasizing embodied perception and the merging of real/virtual environments. Her work bridges artistic practice with scientific inquiry, focusing on how interactive technologies and game-based learning can transform educational and therapeutic contexts. Across her publications, Unterholzner investigates neuroaesthetics, digital games' impact on mental health, and invisible imagery through augmented reality.
