Dr. Seiamak Vahid is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Surrey specializing in telecommunications and wireless networks. His research focuses on 5G/6G networks, spectrum management, cognitive radio systems, and resource allocation algorithms. He holds a PhD in communications and has contributed to major projects like the EU-funded 5GENESIS initiative. His work spans theoretical advancements and practical implementations, including contributions to IEEE 802.11ax standards and LTE-Advanced carrier aggregation techniques. Key research areas include: Dynamic spectrum sharing and aggregation Ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) Multi-connectivity and network coding Ultra-Dense Networks (UDN) performance analysis Recent projects include enhancing 5G infrastructure via Open5GENESIS trials and developing machine learning-based RAT selection for reliability. His work on IEEE 802.11ax includes BSS color schemes and interference-aware MAC protocols.
