Associate Professor
Renata Geležinienė is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Education, Siauliai Academy (part of Vilnius University). She leads the Special Pedagogues and Speech Therapist bachelor study program. Her expertise spans Social Science (Educology), with focus on behavioral and emotional disorders in children, positive behavior support, and evidence-based education practices. She earned her PhD in Social Sciences (Education) from Šiauliai University in 2009, with a dissertation on evidence-based teaching strategies for students with behavioral challenges. She has led major projects like the EU-funded SHELDON autism awareness initiative and contributed to international teacher training collaborations. Her work emphasizes practical strategies for classroom management and student empowerment. Notable awards include a 2015 recognition from Lithuania's Ministry of Education. She advises doctoral student Simas Garbenis and has participated in over 15 Erasmus+ programs, enhancing international educational exchange. Active in professional organizations, she chairs the Lithuanian Association of Special Educators and contributes to national education policy advisory groups.
