Mohamed Khalil is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Hull University Business School (HUBS), part of the University of Hull's Faculty of Business, Law and Politics. He previously held roles as a tutor, assistant lecturer, and lecturer at Tanta University in Egypt. Dr. Khalil earned his PhD in Accounting from the University of Hull and serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for accounting and finance journals. His teaching focuses on both undergraduate courses like Financial Reporting and Research Methods, and postgraduate modules such as Corporate Financial Management and International Financial Reporting Standards. Education: BA (1990-1994), MA (1999-2003), PGDip (2007-2009), and PhD (2007-2011) in Accounting from the University of Hull. His research interests center on financial reporting quality, corporate governance mechanisms, and audit practices in emerging markets. His recent work explores political connections' impact on earnings management and the role of foreign institutional ownership in shaping accounting conservatism. Khalil has served as an External Examiner for multiple UK universities (2018–2028), demonstrating his commitment to academic rigor and cross-institutional collaboration. His research outputs span topics like AI applications in protocol analysis, board independence dynamics, and efficient contracting theories in Egypt. He actively supervises PhD students in areas such as earnings management, ownership structures, and IFRS adoption.
