Associate Professor
Biljana Činčurak Erceg is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law Osijek, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia. She is affiliated with the Department of Commercial, Financial, Maritime and General Traffic Law and also co-teaches at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek. Her academic journey began in 2007 as an assistant, progressing to postdoctoral fellow, assistant professor, and finally associate professor in 2021. Her research interests include maritime law, transport law, environmental protection law, sustainable transport, inland navigation, river environment protection, and transport insurance law. These areas are central to her teaching, which covers subjects such as Maritime and General Traffic Law, Transport and Environmental Law, Insurance Law, and Public Transport Management. The trends in her recent publications reflect a strong focus on the intersection of transport regulation, environmental sustainability, and EU legal frameworks. She frequently explores compliance issues, passenger rights, and legislative reforms in air, rail, road, and inland water transport, often with a comparative or international law perspective. She is actively involved in academic and public service, serving as editor-in-chief of the journal Paragraf and as deputy head of the Green Law Clinic at the Faculty of Law Osijek. She has participated in international research projects such as DUNICOP and "Providentia Studiorum Iuris" and contributes to science popularization through the Science Festival and projects like Interreg CE SHAREPLACE and Aerial Uptake. Her professional engagement includes membership in the Croatian Scientific Society for Transport, the Croatian Maritime Law Society, and the Alumni Association of Law Graduates from Osijek. She has also contributed to the development of qualification standards in public administration and legal education reform.
