Lecturer
Yasemin ERBEY is a full-time Lecturer at the Vocational School of Health Services, Department of Medical Services and Techniques, Kirsehir Ahi Evran University, Turkey, holding this position since 2017. She also serves as Program Director at Ahi Evran University since 2018 and 2021. Her academic credentials include: PhD in Biology from Kirsehir Ahi Evran University (2024) Master's in Biology (Thesis) from Ahi Evran University (2015) Bachelor's in Biology from Gazi University (2008) Her research centers on Microbiology with specialized focus on bacterial flora within Coleoptera digestive systems, particularly Curculionidae beetles. She employs molecular characterization techniques to identify bacterial communities, investigating insect-microbe interactions and potential applications in biological pest control for forest and agricultural systems. Her work bridges entomology and microbial ecology through rigorous laboratory analysis. Analysis of her 15 publications (2014-2022) reveals consistent investigation of bacterial communities across 12 Curculionidae species, with methodological emphasis on molecular identification and isolation techniques. Recent work increasingly explores entomopathogenic bacteria for pest management, while earlier studies established foundational bacterial characterization in beetle digestive tracts. No scientific awards are documented in the available records. She has not supervised any thesis students. Her research is supported by one completed project (2013-2015): Investigation of bacterial flora in Curculionidae digestive systems, where she served as researcher. Collaborative work dominates her publication record with 15 joint publications featuring Hatice Ögütcü. She maintains an active research network with 11 collaborators including Hatice Ögütcü (15 publications), Mahmut Erbey (12), and Medine Güllüce (10), focusing on insect microbiology and environmental bacterial applications.
