Dr. Ruijun Li is a Research Fellow at the Plant Breeding Institute, University of Sydney, within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences. His research focuses on plant genetics, ornamental plant breeding, and molecular cytogenetics. He holds a PhD in Genetics and Breeding of Ornamental Plants from the University of Sydney (2005) and has extensive experience in plant domestication and medicinal plant biosystematics. Education: Bachelor of Science (1984), Harbin Normal University Master of Science (1987), Harbin Normal University PhD (2005), University of Sydney Research Interests: Dr. Li specializes in molecular techniques like genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) to study plant genetics. His work includes domestication of wildflowers, root system biology of herbaceous perennials, and breeding ornamental plants with commercial applications.
