Dr. Andreas Hegyi is an Assistant Professor at TU Delft's Department of Transport & Planning, specializing in traffic flow modeling, control systems, and connected/automated vehicles. He holds a PhD from TU Delft (2004) and was a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University. His research focuses on improving traffic efficiency through speed control and managing mixed environments of automated and manual vehicles. He teaches courses like Road Traffic Management and advises MSc/PhD students. He has authored over 100 publications and serves as an editor for IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems and Transportation Research Part C. His recent work explores cyclist priority systems using connected vehicles and reinforcement learning in traffic control. Education: PhD in Traffic Engineering (TU Delft, 2004), Postdoc at Ghent University. Research Interests: Traffic flow modeling, cooperative vehicle-infrastructure systems, data-driven traffic analysis.
