Craig Glennie is a Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at the Cullen College of Engineering , University of Houston . He serves as the Director of the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping (NCALM) and Director of Engineering Defense Research Initiatives . His research focuses on kinematic remote sensing, lidar processing, 3D change detection, and open-source software development. Education: Ph.D. and B.Sc. in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary (1999, 1996). Professional Experience: Faculty member at the University of Houston since 2010, with prior industry roles at Terrapoint USA Inc. and Aerotec LLC. Research Trends: His recent publications emphasize advancements in lidar technology, flood modeling, volcanic CO2 monitoring, and applications of machine learning to geospatial data.
