Steven M. LaValle is a Professor at the University of Oulu's Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering since 2018. Previously, he held tenured positions at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and was a Principal Scientist at Oculus VR. His research spans robotics, motion planning (notably pioneering RRT algorithms), virtual reality, and sensor fusion.
