Senior Lecturer
Sari Vuorenpää is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Special Education, Stockholm University. She is affiliated with the interdisciplinary Children, Migration and Integration research group under the Human Science Academic Area (HSAA). Her work focuses on multilingual education, immigrant integration in schools, and sustainability in educational practices. Research interests include classroom activities promoting sustainability learning, literacy development in multicultural environments, and policies affecting immigrant students. She has led projects on multilingual school environments, preschool literacy instruction, and science education equity. Notable publications explore chicken-raising classroom projects, immigrant student integration, and teacher practices in multilingual settings. Her recent articles highlight transdisciplinary approaches to education, culturally-responsive teaching strategies, and the role of dialogue in multilingual schools. Current projects investigate language policies, teacher-student interactions, and innovative pedagogies for diverse classrooms.
