Associate Professor
Dr. Lian Loke is an Associate Professor in Interaction Design at the University of Sydney's School of Architecture, Design and Planning. She teaches design thinking, interaction design, and research methods across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Her research focuses on embodied interaction, integrating dance and somatics into technology design to enhance human agency and creativity. She leads the Playful Cities initiative, promoting urban innovation through digital placemaking. Notable contributions include innovative design methods for HCI and robotics collaboration, and award-winning teaching. She is a member of the Design Lab, Affective Interactions Lab, and chairs conferences like TEI. Awards include multiple SUPRA teaching accolades and the 2024 University Strategic Education Grant.
