Professor
Flavio Deflorian is a Full Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Trento and currently serves as Rector of the university. He has held significant administrative roles, including President of the Academic Senate and University Delegate for International Mobility. Education: Master in Materials Engineering (cum laude, 1989), University of Trento; PhD in Materials Engineering, University of Bologna (1991-1995); Master in Advanced Materials Technology, University of Surrey (1991-1996) His research focuses on corrosion protection using organic coatings, electrochemical characterization of materials, and conservation of cultural heritage. He has led European projects (FP7, COST) and Italian PRIN initiatives, and he actively reviews for international journals. Deflorian has contributed to industrial applications through electrodeposition, nanostructured surfaces, and adhesion studies. He has coordinated international mobility programs like Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus, and serves on the administration boards of innovation consortia including Hub Innovazione Trentino and Fondazione Bruno Kessler.
