Alex Galvez Pol is an Associate Professor at the Psychology Department of the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain), leading the Active Cognition, Embodiment & Environment Lab (ACE²Lab). His research focuses on the dynamic interactions between active sensing mechanisms and interoception, investigating how bodily states influence environmental perception through electrophysiological methods. Current affiliations: University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) Lab: ACE²Lab (Active Cognition, Embodiment & Environment Lab) Research hubs: Collaborates with University College London and Max Planck Institute Research interests center around: Active sensing through bodily movements (eye/limb tracking) Interoception-environment interaction dynamics Neural mechanisms of embodied cognition Ecological validity in neuroscience research Article trends reveal: Strong focus on cardiac cycle modulating perception Interoception as fundamental to sensory processing Embodied cognition across clinical (autism) and educational contexts Neuroaesthetics and multisensory integration in social processes Lab structure: 7 behavioral testing rooms 1 electrophysiological suite (EEG, ECG, respiration) 1 eye-tracking room 2 wearable physiology systems Mobile research van for field experiments
