María Dolores Añon Higon is a Full Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the Faculty of Economics, Universitat de València. She is affiliated with the ERI Economic and Social Behaviour (ERI CES) research institute and leads research within the CES Economic and Social Behavior group. Previously, she served as a Lecturer at Aston University in the United Kingdom. She investigates how firms innovate, the impact of public policy on R&D, and the role of collaboration and digital transformation in economic outcomes. The recent articles reflect a strong trend in innovation studies, particularly in the context of SMEs, public policy, and internationalization. Her work spans industrial economics , technology management , and organizational behavior , often using empirical methods to analyze firm-level data. Topics include R&D cooperation, absorptive capacity, gender diversity in management, and the resilience of firms during economic crises. Dr. Añon Higon has participated in externally funded research projects from major institutions including the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (UK) , the Spanish Ministry of Science , the BBVA Foundation , and the British Academy .
