Silvia Bressan is an Assistant Professor at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano's Department of Economics and Management. She holds a PhD in Finance from the Vienna Graduate School of Finance and has held previous roles at MODUL University Vienna and WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. Her research focuses on financial intermediation, banking regulation, and asset pricing, with a growing emphasis on environmental and ESG-related financial impacts. Notable grants include internal research funds from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano for projects like "The pricing of coskewness for bank equity" (2021–2023) and "The market performance of financial firms: An analysis through skewness" (2017–2019). She has also been a consultant for the World Bank and researcher at GRETA Associati. Awards include the Best Young Economist Session (YES) Paper in 2014 and multiple scholarships from the Austrian Science Fund and UniCredit Leopold Gratz Foundation.
