Professor Robert Harvey is a Professor in Pathophysiology and Associate Dean (Research) at the University of the Sunshine Coast's School of Health. He holds a PhD in Natural Sciences (Biochemistry) from the University of Cambridge and has held prior roles at University College London (UCL), including Professor of Molecular Neuroscience and Genetics. His research focuses on neurotransmitter receptors, neurodevelopmental disorders, and invasive species management. He currently leads projects on glycine receptor proteomics, Varroa mite control, and fire ant biocides, supported by $1.8M in ARC funding. Research interests span glycine receptor dysfunction in neurological diseases, translational drug discovery, and environmental pest control.
