Dalia Gebrial is a Lecturer in Geography and Social Justice at King's College London, based in the Department of Geography within the School of Global Affairs. She holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and focuses on decolonial economic geography, examining racial capitalism's intersections with empire, labour, digital economies, and globalisation. Her work critiques how capitalism persists through racialized social divisions of labour across diverse sites like workplaces, homes, and prisons. Her current research applies these frameworks to platform economies, particularly Uber in London, analyzing racialized geographies of labor. She teaches courses on financialization, urban field studies, research design, and geography in practice. Active in media commentary, she contributes to outlets like The Guardian and BBC, and advises anti-racist and workers' rights initiatives. Her research group, Urban Futures, explores conceptual and methodological approaches to understanding urban dynamics. Notable publications include Racial Platform Capitalism: Empire, Migration and the Making of Uber in London (2024) and works on the Green New Deal, decolonizing universities, and postcolonial policies. Her writing spans policy analysis, decolonial pedagogy, and critiques of 'green colonialism.'
