Dr. James Hazelton is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie Business School, Macquarie University. He holds dual affiliations with the Centre for Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Finance and the Smart Green Cities Research Centre. Since joining Macquarie University in 2001, Hazelton has established himself as a leading researcher in sustainability accounting, bringing valuable industry perspective from his prior work at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in audit and consulting across Sydney, London, and New York. Hazelton's academic credentials include: PhD from Macquarie University Graduate Diploma in Environmental Studies from Macquarie University Chartered Accountant qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants His research specializes in environmental accounting frameworks with particular expertise in greenhouse gas emissions, water resources, and modern slavery reporting.
