Philip Liste serves as Professor of Political Science with a focus on human rights politics at Fulda University of Applied Sciences since May 2021, where he acts as Dean of Studies for the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences. He chairs the Examination Committee for the Bachelor's programme in Social Sciences (BASIB) and previously held research positions at the University of Hamburg and Käte Hamburger Kolleg / Centre for Global Cooperation Research. His research critically examines: Human Rights Criticism Global Tax Governance Transnational Legal Theory Law and Society Studies International Relations Specializing in the spatial politics of legal power, he investigates how transnational legal infrastructures enable tax evasion and shape human rights litigation through geographical knowledge production. Analysis of his 2016-2023 publications reveals consistent engagement with the 'dark sides' of global cooperation, particularly how legal practices facilitate tax arbitrage and human rights violations. His work bridges political geography, critical legal studies, and international relations theory to expose power dynamics in seemingly neutral global governance mechanisms. As a founding member of the Point Alpha Research Institute e.V., he contributes to interdisciplinary research on political and social sustainability within Fulda's research ecosystem focused on interculturality and social justice.
