Dr. Ethel Bayer-Santos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Texas at Austin's College of Natural Sciences. Her research focuses on microbial conflicts, particularly bacterial competition mechanisms using specialized nanoweapons like the Type VI Secretion System (T6SS). She completed her B.Sc. in Biological Sciences, Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology, and postdoctoral training in infectious diseases.
