Bensu Baran is a doctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), affiliated with the Institute for Communications Engineering under the Professorship of Line Transmission Technology led by Prof. Norbert Hanik. She holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Koç University (Istanbul, Turkey) and an M.Sc. in Communications Engineering from TUM. Her research focuses on optical communication systems, including topics like carrier and phase recovery in coherent systems and power optimization in hybrid-amplified links. She has contributed to teaching, including courses on Optical Communication Systems and seminars on coding/cryptography in communications. Current research interests emphasize practical challenges in high-speed optical transmission, leveraging her background in signal processing and fiber optics.
