Research Fellow
Dr. Tom HABER serves as a Research Fellow at Hasselt University within the Faculty of Sciences, specifically affiliated with the Capacity group Computer Sciences. His research activities are anchored in the Applied Computer Science Lab and Digital Future Lab , with additional ties to the joint Hasselt University/KU Leuven initiative Expertisecentrum voor Digitale Media (EDM) . His research specializes in high performance computing and modelling/simulation with concrete applications in pharmacometrics and life sciences . This interdisciplinary focus manifests in computational method development for complex biomedical problems, particularly evident in his work on message-passing architectures for pharmacometric applications. The research demonstrates strong connections between theoretical computer science and practical life science implementations. Dr. HABER has supervised PhD research including Balazs Nemeth's 2020 dissertation on computational pharmacometrics methods. His project involvement includes the ExaScience Life Lab (2016-2021), which advanced high-performance computing solutions for life science challenges. As a 'Guest' Research Fellow, he maintains active research engagement through multiple institutional channels while contributing to doctoral training within Hasselt University's framework.
