Adjunct Professor
Dr. Damian Moskalewicz is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Gdańsk , affiliated with the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography and the Department of Geomorphology and Quaternary Geology. His research focuses on coastal geomorphology, sedimentology, and Quaternary geology, with a particular emphasis on storm surge deposits, coastal flooding, and sediment intrusion in the Baltic Sea region. Current Affiliation: University of Gdańsk, Faculty of Oceanography and Geography, Department of Geomorphology and Quaternary Geology Research Lab: Pracownia Rekonstrukcji Geomorfologicznych (Morphological Reconstruction Laboratory) Research Trends: Recent work highlights the application of UAV-based LiDAR and multispectral imaging for coastal monitoring, statistical methods for identifying storm deposits, and interdisciplinary approaches combining historical records with sedimentary analysis. His studies address climate change impacts, sea-level rise, and coastal management strategies, particularly in the Gulf of Gdańsk and Puck Bay. Scientific Contributions: Dr. Moskalewicz has published extensively on coastal cliff degradation, glacial sediment weathering, and late Holocene storm history, utilizing advanced geospatial and geophysical techniques. Laboratory & Teams: He actively collaborates with the Morphological Reconstruction Laboratory, contributing to fieldwork, sediment analysis, and coastal hazard assessments.
