Professor
Roumyana Slabakova is a Professor at the Department of Language and Literature, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and also holds a professorship at the Department of Language and Culture, UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Her research focuses on applied linguistics, second language acquisition, and generative linguistics with particular emphasis on meaning acquisition and multilingualism. Recent studies analyze accentedness in Norwegian L3 acceptability judgments, singular generic noun phrases across languages, and the impact of multilingualism on English L2 acquisition of genericity. Her publications span journals like International Journal of Multilingualism , Nordic Journal of Linguistics , and conference proceedings including CLARC and Bilingualism Matters Symposium. Research themes include cross-linguistic influence, interlanguage theory, morphological marking, and linguistic universals in multilingual settings.
