Saul M. Olyan is the Samuel Ungerleider Jr. Professor of Judaic Studies and Professor of Religious Studies at Brown University. His research focuses on the history, literature, and religion of ancient Israel, with particular emphasis on ritual practices, social inequality, and biblical interpretation.
