Professor
Ning Jiao serves as a Professor at Peking University, where he joined the faculty as an Associate Professor in 2007 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2010. He currently holds the prestigious Yangtze-river scholars distinguished Professor position at the university. His academic journey began with a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Shandong University in 1999, followed by a Ph.D. from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry in 2004 under Prof. Shengming Ma. He then completed postdoctoral training as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at Max Planck Institute für Kohlenforschung with Prof. Manfred T. Reetz (2004-2006). Professor Jiao's research program focuses on three interconnected domains: Development of novel Atom-Incorporation Reaction methodologies, particularly oxygenation, nitrogenation, and halogenation processes Advancing first-row transition metal catalysis for functionalizing inert chemical bonds Synthesizing bioactive compounds with pharmaceutical applications His professional recognition includes Fellowship in the Royal Society of Chemistry, and since January 2021 he has served as Associate Editor for Chemical Science, one of the society's premier journals. His editorial role demonstrates leadership in shaping contemporary chemical research discourse while maintaining an active laboratory program at Peking University.
