Prof. Lütfü Hanoğlu is currently the Head of the Department of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul Medipol University , where he also oversees multiple laboratories including the Neuropsychology Laboratory, Memory Clinic, and the Neurorehabilitation and Neuromodulation laboratories. He previously established the Cognitive Neuroscience department within the Neuroscience Doctorate and Master's Program at IMU's Health Sciences Institute in 2010, and founded the 'Neuromodulation Laboratory' and 'Clinical Electrophysiology and Neuroimaging Laboratory' in 2014. Education: Graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine. Research Focus includes neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer's/Parkinson's), neuropsychological mechanisms, neuromodulation techniques (TMS/tDCS), cognitive rehabilitation, and neuroimaging applications. His work bridges clinical neurology with neuroscientific innovation, particularly in memory disorders and movement disorder management. Key Roles : Founder of Turkey's first multidisciplinary Cognitive Rehabilitation Master's program (2017) Founding member and first General Secretary of the Alzheimer's Association of Turkey (1997) Pioneer in establishing the Turkish Neurological Society's Behavioral Neurology Working Group and the Turkish Neurology Association's Neurorehabilitation/Neuromodulation groups Lab Activities include EEG/fNIRS studies, clinical trials of neuromodulation, and neuroimaging-guided therapies for cognitive disorders. Recent work explores SARS-CoV-2's long-term neurodegenerative impacts and BDNF-mediated Alzheimer's interventions.
