Dr. Giuditta Fontana is an Associate Professor in International Security at the Department of Political Science and International Studies , University of Birmingham. Her research focuses on peace processes, war-to-peace transitions, institution-building, and cultural/education reforms in conflict-affected societies. PGCHE (2018), University of Birmingham PhD (2014), King's College London MA (2008), King's College London BSc (2007), London School of Economics Her work spans Europe, the Middle East, and West Africa, with expertise in power-sharing, cultural policy, and multi-method research. She has developed datasets on political agreements and formal education in conflicts, and currently leads projects like Learning from Failure: Tackling War Recurrence and The Securitisation of Education Reform in Cyprus and Lebanon . Recent publications emphasize user engagement in peace research, cultural dimensions in post-conflict societies, and innovative pedagogical tools like LEGO®. She has received prestigious fellowships including the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship and Birmingham Fellowship.
