Lavinia Rognone is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Sustainable Finance at the University of Edinburgh Business School (UEBS), where she is part of the Centre for Business, Climate Change, and Sustainability (B-CCaS). She also serves as a visiting Research Fellow at the Qatar Centre for Global Banking & Finance (QCGBF) at King's College London and as an Associate Editor of the Research in International Business and Finance (RIBAF) journal. Her educational background includes a PhD in Finance from Alliance Manchester Business School (2021), an M.Sc. in Finance from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden (2017), an M.Sc. in Finance & Banking from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy (2017), and a B.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Rome III, Italy (2015). Lavinia's research focuses on green/climate finance, asset pricing, FinTech, and text-analysis applications to finance. Her work explores the intersection of climate risks and financial markets, with particular attention to how climate-related information affects investment decisions and market dynamics. She has designed and constructed two daily text-based climate risk indicators - the Physical Risk Index (PRI) and Transition Risk Index (TRI) - which have applications in risk and portfolio management. Her recent publications demonstrate a strong trend toward integrating climate risk metrics into traditional financial analysis, with increasing sophistication in text-based approaches to measuring climate risks. The research shows growing attention to ESG integration in investment decisions and the development of practical tools for measuring climate-related financial risks. She has also served as an academic advisor and delivered invited talks, including a Research Seminar at the National Bank of Slovakia. Her work at the European Central Bank as an Economist and Climate Change Expert has directly informed her academic research on practical applications of climate finance indicators. She continues to bridge academic research with practical financial applications through her ongoing collaborations, editorial work, and research on text-based climate risk indicators that serve researchers, practitioners, and policymakers alike.
