Assistant Professor
Dr. Do Young Lee is an Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Political Science, University of Oslo, and a fellow at the Oslo Nuclear Project. Previously, he held postdoctoral positions at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and the George Washington University. He earned his PhD in Political Science from the University of Chicago (2020), with additional predoctoral fellowships at the Institute for Security and Conflict Studies. His research focuses on extended deterrence strategies, nuclear politics in the Asia-Pacific, and alliance dynamics. His work appears in Security Studies , The Chinese Journal of International Politics , and The Washington Quarterly . Research funding supported by the Smith Richardson Foundation, Charles Koch Foundation, Scowcroft Institute, and George Washington University. Teaches courses including 'Politics and Strategy in the Nuclear Age' and 'Conflict and Cooperation.'
