Sara E. Skrabalak is the James H. Rudy Professor and Robert & Marjorie Mann Chair in the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University Bloomington . She serves as Editor-in-Chief for ACS Materials Letters and Chemistry of Materials and held associate editor roles for Nanoscale journals (2017-2020). Her research focuses on designing nanomaterials with controlled crystal size, shape, composition, and architecture for applications in energy science , chemical sensing , and secured electronics . Education : B.A. in Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis (2002), Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2006), Postdoctoral Research at University of Washington-Seattle. Research Themes : Nanomaterial Synthesis : Developing scalable methods for inorganic nanocrystals with defined properties. Plasmonics : Exploring symmetry-reduced metal nanostructures for optical applications. Electrocatalysis : Building durable multimetallic catalysts from intermetallic seeds. Solar-to-Fuel Conversion : Engineering heteroanionic photocatalysts for visible light water splitting.
