Dr. Mikhail Freer is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Essex. His teaching focuses on advanced topics such as Market Structure and Strategic Behaviour (EC366) and Topics in Economic Theory (EC993). He currently supervises doctoral student Yi Shi, whose thesis examines conditional cooperation in economics. Dr. Freer's research interests span economic theory, game theory, experimental economics, and behavioral economics. His work often explores revealed preference analysis, strategic behavior in markets, and welfare economics. Notable areas include the study of auction credibility, marital stability under mutual consent divorce, and the algebraic approach to preference reconstruction. His recent publications (2021–2024) reflect a focus on dynamic game strategies, utility representation theorems, and experimental studies of collective behavior. He has contributed to understanding limited attention in decision-making and prize-probability trade-offs in utility maximization. Dr. Freer holds a PhD in Economics and is affiliated with the University of Essex's Colchester Campus.
