Associate Professor
Michael Himle is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Utah's College of Social and Behavioral Science. His research focuses on behavioral conceptualization and treatment of obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders with emphasis on Tourette and tic disorders, examining the utility of OC-spectrum classifications, and disseminating empirically supported interventions through technology. Education includes: Ph.D. from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2007) Predoctoral internship at Brown University M.S. from North Dakota State University (2003) B.S. from University of North Dakota (2000) Research interests center on behavioral therapies for tic disorders, telehealth delivery methods, and improving treatment accessibility. Recent work explores technological adaptations for intervention delivery and mechanisms of tic exacerbation in pediatric populations. Current graduate advisees include Laura Graham Holmes, Loran Hayes, and Priya Ramanujam. The lab maintains active research on dissemination of evidence-based practices and technology-assisted interventions.
