Dr. Marie-Pascale Pomey, MD, Ph.D., is a Full Professor at the University of Montreal with dual appointments in the Department of Health Management, Evaluation and Policy at the School of Public Health and the Department of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine. She serves as a Regular Researcher at the CHUM (Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal) within the Innovation Crossroads research axis and co-directs the Center of Excellence for Partnership with Patients and the Public. Dr. Pomey also holds the Chair in Evaluation Program of State-of-the-Art Technology and Methods and serves as a Medical Advisor at the National Institute of Excellence in Health and Social Services. Her research focuses on patient engagement across healthcare system governance, digital health applications for patient engagement, and health policy development. Dr. Pomey has pioneered work on the Quebec model of patient partnership, developing frameworks for meaningful patient involvement in healthcare quality improvement. Her work bridges clinical practice, healthcare management, and policy development, with particular emphasis on how patient perspectives can transform care delivery and system design. Her recent publications reveal a strong trend toward digital health interventions, patient partnership models, and quality improvement methodologies, with increasing focus on specific disease areas like neuroendocrine tumors, hematological cancers, and heart failure. The 2025 publications particularly emphasize narrative approaches to understanding patient experiences, AI applications in healthcare, and refined methodologies for measuring the impact of patient engagement initiatives.
