Mike Giles is a Professor of Numerical Analysis at the University of Oxford's Mathematical Institute and serves as Head of the Numerical Analysis Group. He is also a Professorial Fellow at Balliol College and a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS). His academic career spans computational mathematics, scientific computing, and computational finance. Professor Giles' research primarily focuses on Monte Carlo methods, with particular emphasis on the development and numerical analysis of multilevel Monte Carlo methods over the past 15 years.
