Research Fellow
Nick Letch serves as Deputy Dean and Deputy Head of School at the UWA Business School, University of Western Australia, where he is a Senior Honorary Research Fellow in the Management and Organisations Discipline Group. His academic leadership includes Director of Academic Programs (2015-2017) and Director of Undergraduate Programs (2012-2015), with teaching and research focused on Business Information Systems. His research centers on sociotechnical systems in information technology, emphasizing e-Government, public sector information management, and digital infrastructure development. He investigates how IT implementations affect citizen-administration relationships and organizational processes, applying frameworks like Actor Network Theory to analyze the interplay between social and technical elements in complex systems. Recent publications (2016-2024) demonstrate a consistent trajectory toward blockchain applications in supply chains and marine operations, alongside foundational work in IT governance and sociotechnical modeling. His research bridges theoretical frameworks with practical implementation, addressing real-world challenges in public administration, retail, and international collaboration through interdisciplinary approaches. Dr. Letch has supervised six research students and leads major international projects including Chinese student experience enhancement, automated vehicle pathways evaluation, and educational blockchain innovation. His consultancy work spans government agencies like WA Department of Commerce and Telethon Institute for Child Health Research, focusing on information systems strategy and evaluation. He collaborates with research teams across Australia, China, UK, and USA, forming dynamic networks to tackle complex problems in digital transformation, particularly in public service delivery and educational contexts through blockchain and infrastructure innovation.
